WARP 1st Commemoration News, The international convention on the cessation of war

WARP 1st Commemoration News, The international convention on the cessation of war and achievement of world peace

WARP 1st Commemoration of September 18th

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a non-governmental peace organization registered under the UN Department of Public Information (DPI), is hosting the 1st Annual Commemoration of September 18th World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit. The two affiliates of HWPL, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) and the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), organized the Summit.

Prior to the first day of the official event, on September 17th 2015, a press conference was held at the Peace Palace. Over 30 journalists, reporters, and chief editors from major international broadcasting stations representing 15 countries came to report about the Summit and interview Chairman Lee, of HWPL, and organizing representatives.

WARP 1st Commemoration will serve as a platform for chief justices and legal professionals to discuss international law for the cessation of armed conflicts and achievement of world peace. Especially on the 18th, an in-depth discussion will take place regarding the Convention on the Renunciation and Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts prepared by members of HWPL’s Peace Advisory Council.

As world-renowned legal experts will take part in the drafting work, expectations are high for its outcome. Once these professionals in the field of international law return to their respective countries, they will continue the carry out the project based on the convention drafted at the event. The 1st Annual Commemoration of September 18th WARP Summit is expected to take the world one step closer to the solution for achieving the cessation of war and world peace.

Elizabeth Costales Cachin, a journalist of PTV from the Philippines asked about the purpose of HWPL and the duty of the press and media in stopping armed conflicts and achieving world peace.

Chairman Man Hee Lee said, “First of all, we have to carefully examine what is behind the scenes of armed conflicts. In order to stop wars, a rigid system is needed to bring forth a practical solution for peace. That solution is the international convention on the cessation of war and achievement of world peace.
The purpose of HWPL is to bring about the cessation of war and establish peace as an inheritance for future generations. Certainly, world peace will be achieved if all reporters are accountable for accurate reporting standards and continually report on peace.”

IWPG and IPYG serve as the two wings of peace, making it possible for HWPL to soar. We have clearly seen that the development of weapons and armed forces have not guaranteed to bring peace to us. If we continue what we’ve been doing, we will not only inherit a world of war but also the destruction of mankind for our future generations.

Therefore, we call women and youth of the world to sign a statement to urge for the implementation of the convention on peace. We will work until the time when we can inherit a sustainable peace as an eternal legacy for our children.

ⓒ 1st Annual Commemoration of September 18th

At the WARP Summit 2014, Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL, called on the heads of state around the world to “sign and ratify a convention on the cessation of war to make it international law if they truly love the people of their country.” Chairman Lee is leading a worldwide peace movement that transcends nationality, ethnicity, religion, and ideology.

Chairman Man Hee Lee is urging political leaders to participate in the development of international law on the cessation of war, motivating many to join the cause.

The WARP Summit will feature the presentation of the first draft of the Convention on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace prepared by members of HWPL’s Peace Advisory Council and International Law Committee.

On behalf of the international community and nongovernmental organizations, HWPL is taking the lead in peace-building in response to a world rife with disputes and armed conflicts.

At the 1st Annual Commemoration of September 18th WARP Summit, it is expected that an international convention will be drafted for the cessation of war and achievement of world peace so that the future generations can inherit a peaceful world devoid of war.

This peace movement is amazing and for the first time in history this work of peace seems possible. It would be great if the whole world heard this news of WARP 1st Commemoration.

The peace that we have always dreamed of, and at first seemed like an impossible task to achieve, has now reached a stage in which peace around the world is possible.

PEACE AGREEMENT CEREMONY, THE HIGHLIGHT OF WARP Summit

"Stop War!"

The World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Summit, which held from September 17 -19, 2014 in Seoul, was an event that opened a new chapter in the peace movement worldwide.

Theme of the event was "The Enactment of an International Law for the Cessation of Wars and Legacy of Peace and the World Alliance of Religions."

This summit was groundbreaking in the sense that it presented; "the World Alliance of Religions" as a concrete proposition for realizing the cessation of wars and world peace.

The event presented a platform for realising peace worldwide - first is to sign the Unity of Religions Agreement, and the second is to present the Agreement to Propose the Enactment of an International Law for the Cessation of Wars and encourage political and religious leaders around the world to participate.

The WARP Summit was hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL, Chairman Man Hee Lee), which is a purely non-governmental organization, and it was attended by more than 50 former and current heads of state including presidents, vice presidents, and prime ministers from all around the world.

The fact that over 680 religious leaders from 120 countries agreed on the idea of "the World Alliance of Religions" and that they came to the Republic of Korea all the way from foreign countries has a significant meaning in the history of religions.

The WARP Summit was actively supported by people from all walks of life. Since young people are the biggest victims of war, it is natural that over 600 representatives and members of youth organizations in 139 countries attended the event.

On the first day of the WARP Summit, the opening ceremony was held at Seoul Olympic Stadium. The event was attended by approximately 200,000 people both inside and outside of the stadium, establishing itself as the biggest event ever for peace. The Card Section performance by 12,000 members of the youth organizations presented a spectacular view and delivered the message of peace to the whole world.

"All religions must unite as one under the name of God."

The second day of the WARP Summit, religious leaders proclaimed they will transcend religion and denomination and embark upon the establishment of the unity of religions in order to bring about world peace.

Through agreement, they declared to work with people all around the world to realize world peace through the unity of religions, saying,

The Agreement to propose the Enactment of an International Law was declared along with Unity of Religions Agreement, and political leaders and government officials of the world pledged to be on the frontlines of spreading the necessity of enacting an international law to bring cessation of wars.

"The wars within humanity can be avoided by the determination in our hearts, and we can accomplish a world of peace to leave as a legacy for our future generations."

On the last day of the event, a total of 200,000 people, including the participants of the Summit, the members of youth and women's groups, and local citizens, participated in the Walk for World Peace near Seoul Olympic Park.

This event, hosted by the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), commemorated the huge success of the World Alliance of Religions' Peace Summit, attended by about 600 members from youth and women groups representing organizations in 139 countries.

Mr. Man Hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL, emphasized the realization of the cessation of wars and world peace through the unity of religions in numerous meetings with the media.

[HWPL Day] WARP 1st Commemoration  on September 18, 2015

A photo from Turkey showing the body of a lifeless Syrian boy washed upon a beach became a symbolic image of the refugee plight.

For whom is this war, wherein a child loses his or her parents and parents lose their child? To me the outcome of war is unfortunate and terrible.

If only every individual reduced their desires and greediness, peace would come. I think war is a result of greediness for oneself, for whom is this war for?

Shadow Performance

Did you know more than 80% of conflicts throughout the history of mankind were caused due to religious misunderstandings?

This shadow dance performance visualizes the origin of the conflicts related to religions from its outbreak, development, consequences, and finally the true guidance and direction of religions.

As Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) realizes the need of unity and harmony in religious society, it has established the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Office in many parts of the world to eradicate religious misconception and bring forth peace.

Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light Peace walk ; Let the Walk fot the Peace

Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light Peace walk ; Let the Walk fot the Peace!

What is his answer for peace?

Are there any materials to accomplish the peace? Yes there is.

It is God and Heavenly Culture.

What is the meaning of the Heavenly Culture?

What has been expressed in words is the writing, and the writing that is fulfilled in accordance to words is the culture.

Just as there are mountains and streams, plants and grass on this earth, there are the sun, moon, stars, clouds, rain, air, wind and also the spirits in heaven. As well, the things created by God can be referred to as the “Heavenly Culture”.

Just as the sky is higher than the earth, the Culture of Heaven is high and exalted.

HWPL Peace Summit of the Americas, Los Angeles ; Beautiful harmony

Baba Iqbal Singh was invited as a special Guest to the PEACE Summit of the Americas hosted by the World Alliance of Religions at Carson Center, Los Angeles under HWPL.

In a glorious sight the select gathering and Baba Iqbal Singh ji signed the World Peace Treaty to seek cessation of Wars. Babaji represented the Sikh community. The audience cheered the leaders when they signed the historic agreement.

On this occasion Babaji said "Sikhism is the real gist and epitome of Inter-Faith and Universal Brotherhood wherein blessed souls from all faiths and social status are represented with their Divine Words in the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib. It is God's will that we should see the divine light in every human being irrespective of his religion."

HWPL(The Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) is a non-profit, non-governmental international organization registered under the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and operating out of Seoul, South Korea.

Under HWPL, there are International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG, chairwoman Nam Hee Kim) and International Peace Youth Group (IPYG, director Du Hyun Kim).

Chairman Man Hee Lee’s activities for peace are not limited only to the alliance of religions. To end war practically, he is trying to enact the law, and work with International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) and International Women Peace Group(IWPG), spreading out globally through the activities from peace supporters.

Chairman Lee visited the United Nation in New York last December, urging for the enactment of international law for world peace and cessation of war while he had a meeting with UN officials, and lead the peace treaty in Mindanao, Philippine, where the religious conflicts had been continued over 40 years, which was broadcasted around the world.

Those religious leaders who participated signed peace agreements for the Alliance of Religions and those signs have come to reality that the offices for World Alliance of Religions for Peace of HWPL are established, actively operating their duties.

Time flies by very fast, it's already September!

It’s already September and fall is in the air.

Fall sure is a fabulous time to sit back and read.

Which is the best of poems of the fall?

The best of poems of the fall, Images for fall free download 1.
I like to wash

I like to wash,
the dust of this world
In the droplets of dew.

Will you turn toward me?

What though life conspire to cheat you

What though life conspire to cheat you,
Do not sorrow or complain.
Lie still on the day of pain,

And the day of joy will greet you.
Hearts live in the coming day.
There's an end to passing sorrow.

Suddenly all flies away,
And delight returns tomorrow.

- A.S. Pushkin -

The best of poems of the fall, Images for fall free download 4.
Under the Harvest Moon

Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers.

   Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.

- Carl Sandburg -

This poem is full of suggestion.

Why don’t you try writing a poem this fall? ^^

South Korea Beautiful Places, Dasan Jeong Yak-yong's Birthplace "Yeoyudang"

South Korea Beautiful Places,

Dasan Jeong Yak-yong's Birthplace "Yeoyudang"

Not long ago, I went to historical site of Dasan
in South Korea Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do.

The sky was so blue and beautiful day.

▲ Entrance historical site of Dasan

▲ Dasan Jeong Yak-yong's Birthplace "Yeoyudang"

Yeoyudang(與猶堂) is the birthplace of Dasan(茶山, one of his ‘ho’ / pen-names meaning ‘the mountain of tea’) Jeong Yak-yong.

The house is located in the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Historical Site.

▲ The inside of Yeoyudang

On June 16 (lunar), 1762 (38th year of King Yeongjo’s reign), Dasan was born as the fourth son between father Jeong Jae-won and mother Yun in Neungnae-ri (Joan-myeon) where the fifth generation forefathers of his clan had lived.

He was known to be an exceptionally brilliant child and began to study Chinese classics at the age of ten ; poems written when he was young werealready compiled into the book Sammijajip.

After passing the Higher Civil Service Examination at the age of 28, Dasan became a beloved official of King Jeongjo.

He was one of the greatest thinkers of the later Joseon period, wrote highly influential books about philosophy, science and theories of government, held significant administrative positions, was a close confident of King Jeongjo (ruled 1776-1800), and was noted as a poet.

After King Jeongjo passed away in 1800, Dasan felt something ominous was imminent and decided to return to his hometown and began to live a life of seclusion and pursued scholarship.

At this time, he named his birthplace Yeoyudang.

The name came from the phrase of the famed Chinese scholar Lao-tzu, “Do things as carefully as if walking over ariver in winter, and be vigilant against all directions as if you are scared.”

Despite his seclusion, Dasan was forced into exile in Gangjin for 18 years.

After finishing his exile, he returned to his home at the age of 57 and stayed there and continued inhis studiesuntil he passed away at the age of 75.

Yeoyudang was later washed away in the Great Flood of 1925 and neglected due to the construction of the Paldang Dam. The house was restored in 1975.

The simplicity and tidiness of the house symbolize Dasan’s personality.

HWPL is a non-profit international peace organization that is spreading peace movement most enthusiastically and systematically in the world. HWPL has affiliated organizations, International Women’s Peace Group (“IWPG”, Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim), and International Peace Youth Group (“IPYG”, Director Du Hyun Kim) and they are working through and for the women and youth members in the world.

Chairman Man Hee Lee played a key role in ending a 40-year religious conflict in Mindanao, Philippines where it used to be the hotspot of Asia. On May 25th 2015, he visited Mindanao and participated in the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and held International Peace Youth Group Walk Festival. By doing this, Catholic and Muslim representatives expressed their will to collect all hearts of the people for peace.

With a growing support and cooperation of the international community, well-known places like city of Alexandria in Virginia state, Mindanao Philippines, and Royal Bafokeng Nation in Republic of South Africa have acknowledged HWPL’s achievements by unveiling peace monuments and designating May 25th as ‘HWPL Day’ as a day of world peace.

Of three Baltic States, Latvia’s first WARP Office is expected to play a key role as catalyst to remind the neighboring countries of the importance of peace. In this event, it was even more noteworthy that religious leaders who promised to become one through the peace agreement positively discussed the 2nd HWPL’s WARP Office in Latvia.

Chairman Man Hee Lee and his peace delegation have been circling the globe, addressing the religious leaders, former and current Heads of state and politicians of this world.

As Chairman Man Hee Lee once said, “We should let the whole world know about these peace activities in order to achieve world peace. Peace is not a personal work, but the work that we all should do.”
