The Trending World Peace Activity of Chairman Man Hee Lee, HWPL Day

Civil activist Man Hee Lee is the Chairman of the HWPL and its trending world peace movement.

Government organizations and groups around the world have been participating in the world peace movement, especially relating to the anniversary of the HWPL's activities.

● Alexandria, Declaration of HWPL Day on Sept.18th

Alexandria, a city near Washington D.C. in the State of Virginia, recently formally declared that Sept.18th would be known as HWPL Day.
According to the HWPL, on April 20th, the City of Alexandria, Virginia, US, recently declared Sept.18th to be the official HWPL Day.

Between 09/17 and 09/19/2014, the HWPL hosted the World Alliance of Religions Peace Summit in Seoul, South Korea. One event held during the summit was the signing of the Agreement of the Unification of Religions.

The mayor of Alexandria, Virginia, William D. Euille, proclaimed 09.18.2015 to be the Day of Unification of World Religions.

The proclamation of Alexandria was based on the ideals of HWPL in that future generations of human beings should cherish love, generosity and life as the most precious things in the world. The proclamation of Alexandria was based on the purpose of introducing the region's people to the HWPL's idea of Heavenly Culture.

Accordingly, all the affiliated departments, organizations, groups, educational facilities, religious institutes and citizens will celebrate the Day of the Unification of World Religions. This celebration was proclaimed with an oath from the mayor and marked with the official seal of the city.

● The National Assembly of Ecuador resolved to support
the Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light movement.

Government agencies around the world are also actively supporting the peace movement of Chairman Lee and this action in Alexandria is not the only example.

The Ecuadorian Congress has recently voted on a resolution to accept and support Chairman Lee's activities. This governmental acceptance and support of the actions of an NGO is thought to be very unusual.

Chairman Lee and the head of the International Women's Group, Nam Hee Kim, a supporter of the HWPL, received a letter of declaration two years ago from Carson City, California, that they would annually recognize May 25th as HWPL Day. This letter was received during Lee and Kim's sixteenth overseas trip to the United States.
This HWPL letter of declaration was announced for the first time on 5.25.2013 by US broadcaster ABC News.

● Peace Agreement in the Bafokeng Kingdom and the enacted HWPL Day

During Chairman Lee's 17th overseas trip last march, the Bafokeng Kingdom in South Africa also established an annual HWPL Day. During the Royal Bafokeng Kingdom's festival of peace, her majesty Mmemogolo Semane Molotlegi, the Queen Mother and Chairman Lee signed a peace agreement and established May 25th as the annually recognized HWPL Day. They also pledged to hold peaceful celebrations to commemorate this event. Furthermore, an unveiling ceremony was also held to honor a special peace monument to recognize the HWPL's activities.

About WARP

Meanwhile, last September 17 to 19 at the Jamsil Main Stadium, the 63 Building and in front of the gate of peace at the Olympic Park in Seoul, Korea, there was an HWPL gathering for world peace that included twenty thousand foreigners from more than 170 countries.

These participants were ordinary citizens concerned about world peace as well as political leaders, religious leaders and women's and youth groups' leaders.

Certain groups focused on different aspects of peace. For example religious leaders advocated for peace through religious unification and a group of former and standing presidents and Supreme Court Justices pledged to enact an international law for the cessation of war.

Chairman Lee, a Korean War veteran, played a leading role in ending the 40 year dispute on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines last January. PTV, the national broadcast company of the Philippines, and ABS-CBN, the largest private broadcast firm of the country, extensively reported on Mr. Lee's peace-promoting activities.

More recently, Lee took his 17th overseas trip in the name of world peace. Over the past three years and covering 70 different countries, Chairman Lee has met with a full spectrum of individuals ranging from former and current presidents, religious leaders, women and youth groups, as well as the press from scores of public and private broadcasting stations in his appeal to get them to join his movement for the cessation of war and promotion of peace.

The voices yearning for peace reverberated near the Peace Gate in Olympic Park, Seoul, on the morning of September 19th, the last day of World Alliance of Religions, Peace Summit.

The place was packed with over 100,000 people, including political, religious, women and youth leaders as well as members of 650 youth group members from 139 countries. They shouted for peace and waived handmade banners which read ‘Beginning of Peace,’ ‘Start of Alliance of Religions,’ ‘We are One’ and much more.

WARP SUMMIT 2014 : The Walk for World Peace
Chairman Man Hee Lee voiced in his message, “We have promised that religions will become one. Our hearts, thoughts, and even each word we speak will have to be used for making peace. We must deliver the message of peace to all the people around the world.” The participants cheered and agreed to his message.

Big Stride for Peaceful World

WARP SUMMIT 2014 : The Walk for World Peace
Du Hyun Kim, the director of the International Peace Youth Group, emphasized in his message, “Here are gathered the people with different ideologies and religions. If we truly want peace, we must gather as one.”

After three loud and cheerful shouts of ‘Hurray’, the peace walk kicked off. The brass band led the march, and a Korean traditional brass ensemble cheered even more.

When Chairman Man Hee Lee proclaimed the beginning of the Walk with his powerful voice, approximately 100,000 people, led by the youth of IPYG, began to walk shouting “World Peace.”

Throughout the Walk, the youth dressed in traditional clothes of each country gave performances, celebrating the signing of the interfaith peace agreement the day before and expressing the wish for peace.

No participant seemed to care about the strong rays of sun while marching around the Peace Gate.

The foundation for achieving a world of peace

The Walk for World Peace was hosted in commemoration of the signing of the interfaith peace agreement
The day before, political leaders including 15 former heads of state representing countries around the world and more than 600 religious leaders representing each religion participated in the signing of the peace agreement.

Also, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) and the International Youth Peace Group (IPYG), which Chairman Man Hee Lee has stressed are the means to achieve world peace, agreed to the idea of the Declaration of World Peace and signed the peace agreement with a determination to join the work of peace.

The Walk which was held on the following day commemorated the fact the WARP Summit did not end up as a perfunctory event, but it became the foundation for achieving a world of peace.

WARP SUMMIT 2014 : The Walk for World Peace
“I have realized the importance of life as a mother of a child. … If we join our forces through the signing for peace and having a peace summit, peace will surely be achieved. … I am certain of that right now. The moment the peace summit kicked off was moment peace has started.” Muslim woman leader Ellie, mentioned.

People across South Korea shared the heart for peace, thinking of the news on wars globally. Gwang Min Han from Jeju Island said, “It is sad, there are wars taking place right at this moment. I hope the peace walk spreads farther so the world becomes a peaceful place without war, one day sooner.”

In May 2013, HWPL declared the Declaration of World Peace and held a peace walk at the same location with over 30,000 youths from 130 countries.

In May 2014, over 100,000 youths around the world have gathered for the 1st anniversary of the Declaration of World Peace.

25 May 2013, HWPL Peace Walk

This event marked the official proclamation of the Declaration of World Peace, announcing an era of change and most importantly, of peace.

The declaration of World Peace presented an outlined method to achieve what centuries of wars and peace efforts had failed to establish.

"The Heavens and the Earth formed by the hands of the Creator have been given to humanity as an inheritance. In all the universe, life in its vast splendour exists only on our world.
The life that grows on the earth is sustained from above - by light, by the rain, and by the air they provide unconditionally to all living beings. We have received the precious gift of life from above, let us give glory to heaven, and live in peace on earth. This is the truest teaching of heaven.

As emissaries of World Peace ; as people who are working towards the restoration of humanity through a new and heavenly culture, we declare the following : We call on the heads of state of every country to sign an international agreement - a commitment to bringing all wars to an end. We ask them to do this from a spirit of deep-seated love for the people of their country.

We call on all youth to unite in an effort to stop wars and pursue the restoration of peace by agreeing not to fight one another. For World Peace to become a reality, this is the duty of all youth, everywhere.

The only way to stop the fighting and pointless, tragic deaths, is to stop fighting. Nobody can ask for anything greater than this, and know that your efforts - the efforts of the young people of the world today in pursuit of peace - will remain as a never fading light of life for all future generations.

Furthermore, we call on every person, every man, woman, and child in the world, to pick up the mantle of peace. In whatever way you can, we ask that you work to further the cause of world peace and restoration, making it a reality in your direct environments.

Lastly, we call on the media to report responsibly and promote a message of peace to the world. World peace and restoration has begun at the same time this declaration is proclaimed.

Thank you.

- Peace Activist Man Hee Lee

The words of the declaration inspires every person to envision how peace might be achieved, sparking a responsibility in the hearts of the youth - a spark which quickly grew into a blaze of hope, bringing light and warmth to communities and opening the door to a new outlook.

Over 30,000 youth representing 130 countries including the United States,Portugal, Greece, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Belarus and Columbia gathered to participate in the event. Following the Declaration of World Peace, they hosted a peace walk along the main road, calling for the cessation of wars.

※ About WARP

▣ Statement of Intent

While it may, in most cases be too simplistic to say that ideological differences based on religion or culture are the cause of war in our world today, it is not too much to say that these differences are exploited to heighten the community’s propensity for violent behaviour.

Through the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Summit, HWPL seeks to create a forum for dialogue centring on the creation of a commonly acceptable value-system between secular and religious communities in all socio-political sectors of our divers societies.

Such a value system will form the basis for the creation of peace agreements and a universally applicable constitution of interfaith relations, as well as education materials which can be used across the spectrum of humanity’s diversity to begin revolutionising the basic precepts of our cultures and ideologies which provide the central tenants promoting conflict and violent behaviour.

Man Hee Lee Peace Quotes

WARP summit 18 September 2014, DAY 2

All these religions say that they have been established in the name of God.  If that is so, they should belong to God.
Then, according to the will of the true God, they must be offered to Him.  Under one God, the alliance of religions must take place to create a world of peace with no more religious conflicts.  In such a world, God must reign and all mankind must attend to God.

Man Hee Lee Peace Quotes
If you say that you are the upright religion, truly acting according to God’s will, then let us offer our religions to God, the rightful owner.  Let us stop these conflicts, for religions were His to begin with.

The current religions today are no longer within the will of God.  They have become beyond corrupt that they are more like religions of the devil rather than religions of the true God.  One cannot deny that the quarrels, fights, murders, cursing, and judging among the religions are the actions of the devil.  Therefore, all religious leaders must offer their religions to God and become one under Him.

"An Unprecedented Event Blessed by God"

From the 17 to 19 September 2014, WARP: World Alliance of Religions Peace Summit was held as a Peace Festival of 200,000 members including 2,000 leaders of political, religious, women, and youth groups from 20 different countries.

“This peace summit was truly an event blessed by God himself. I find Chairman Man-Hee Lee’s idea surprising and astounding.”

The reactions of the attendees of WARP (World Alliance of Religions: Peace Summit) were uniform.

The summit is viewed as a “historic event” in which heads of state of more than 20 different countries and over 2,000 leaders from different religions and women, youth and peace organizations gathered for one purpose, the cessation of war and world peace.

The audience expressed their amazement of the idea of an international agreement, “the Unity of Religions” and “Peace Agreement” brought forth by Chairman Lee.

Former president of Croatia, Stipe MesiΔ‡ (former president of Yugoslavia) remarked, “This peace conference is truly a groundbreaking event. I have never seen so many presidents and religious leaders take part in one event for peace.”

He added, “I find Chairman Lee’s idea very surprising and astonishing. I am confident that this event will have a constructive effect in achieving world peace and the cessation of war.”

Leader of the Islam faith, Edmond Briama said, “All changes must start with someone. It is imperative that the delegates and religious leaders who have gathered here today for the cessation of war and world peace begin the international peace agreement.”

Compliments of the arrangement and the discipline of the organization followed.

Sahul Hameed Athambawa, president of a religious organization of Sri Lanka, said, “I attended many conferences including those in Austria and Norway.

However, this is the first that I have seen such a well systemized conference.”

He added that the “opening ceremony, which gathered over 20,000 people” was when there was “ true transcendence of all races, nations and religions” and expressed that he was “truly happy to take part in the event.”

The genuineness and coordination of the host of the event is seen to have contributed to the attendees’ views of South Korea.

The president of the Brazilian Protestant Pastor’s Organization, Antonio Sadi Bazinail, stated, “I began to respect Chairwoman Kim and Chairman Lee when I witnessed the true concern they had in achieving world peace.

Before coming here, I did not know about South Korea, however, seeing their respect for foreign guests and diligence made me see how great South Korea has become.”

If we truly love peace, just as Chairman Lee has mentioned, we must all have the same faith. We all believe in the same God.

This was the first time in my life since I have seen such an immense conference.

I request for Chairman Lee’s insightful plans to be shared even more with other non-governmental organizations so more conferences like this one will be held in the future.
