The family of Michael Brown called for peace
Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri on August 9th, despite being unarmed.
His body had undergone three autopsies as part of ongoing state and national investigations.
The family of Michael Brown called for peace and calm at a rally Sunday evening, the night before a funeral would be held for the unarmed black teen who was shot and killed by a white police officer two weeks ago.
“Tomorrow, all I want is peace while my son is being laid to rest,” said Michael Brown Sr., appearing at “Peace Fest 2014” in Forest Park here with the parents of other slain black teens and civil rights leaders. “Please, please take a day of silence so we can lay our son to rest. Please. That’s all I ask. And thank you.”
The crowd held their hands in the air, waving peace signs, and many faces were somber. They held hands and raised their arms above their heads as the evening sun streamed through the clouds behind them. The mood was solemn and serious. A community driven to the streets by rage for so many days may finally be taking a moment to grieve.
The rally sought to bring attention to the shootings of young African-American men.
Other speakers echoed the family’s requests for peace, keenly aware of the potential for more turbulence in Ferguson, which has been rocked by waves of violence since Brown was shot Aug. 9.

Pope Francis' 10 point plan for happiness.
Here are Pope Francis' tips for a happy life which I was touched and want to try everyday for my life as well.
1. Live and let live. It's an echo of the Pope's earlier remark on gays: "Who am I to judge?" Moreover, it's what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount: "Judge not, unless you want to be judged yourself." (Matthew 7:1)
These days, people are judging each other too much and tend to care too much. If we live and let live, we will have much free and peace I guess.
2. Give yourself to others. That
is, give your money and your time to those in need. Don't just sit around like
stagnant water. Give all you have and then some.
People think "donation or money" are only things to give. But, in everyday life, there are so much things to give from myself to others. And since it becomes a habit, we will live a meaningful and happy life.
3 Move quietly in the world. The Pope quotes from a favorite novel by an early 20th-century Argentine writer, Ricardo Guiraldes, in which the novelist writes that in one's youth, a person is "a rocky stream that runs over everything," but as one gets older, one becomes "a running river, quietly peaceful." It's very like the Native American Suggestion that one should walk "in balance and beauty" on the ground, making the least disturbance.2. Give yourself to others. That is, give your money and your time to those in need. Don't just sit around like stagnant water. Give all you have and then some.
Everything is so fast and people tend to believe "fast = success". But we live only forward, fast, we won't have time
to look others as well as myself.
4. Enjoy leisure. The Pope says that consumerism has
brought with it unbearable anxieties. So play with your children. Take time off. And don't spend all your time thinking about your next acquisition. Spend your time well, not your money.
For balanced life, we need break.
6. Find jobs for young people. Who would have guessed that job-creation would be on list for happiness? But the Pope is right. Honest, simple work for young people is essential to their well-being. Somewhat surprisingly, in this moment in the interview, the Pope connected job creation to the degradation of our environment: "the tyrannical use of nature." He links the lack of good jobs to the lack of respect for ourselves and the Earth itself.5. Sunday is for families. This is actually one of the Ten Commandments. Honor the Sabbath. (Exodus 20:8) Once a week, give a whole day to meditation, worship, family life, tending the needs of the spirit. This is healthy living.
So creating jobs doesn't mean ruining the environment. It doesn't mean, as the politicians chant, "jobs, jobs, jobs." Good and productive labor is valuable, and it doesn't mean you have to have a fancy job description. You don't have to become rich. You can be ordinary. Happiness lies there. Do good work, create good work for others.
Having a family life is very important. But in my country, it is rare to find those kind of job. Life balanced job would make this whole world much happier.
7. Respect nature. This follows from No. 6. "Isn't humanity committing suicide with this indiscriminate and tyrannical use of nature?" the Pope wonders. Not surprisingly, this is what Henry David Thoreau, a founding father of the environmental movement, said. "Most people live lives of quiet desperation," he said. He went into the woods, to Walden Pond, because he wanted "to live deliberately" and to "front only the essential facts of life."
A proper respect for nature means that you can't pollute the air, poison the rivers and chop down the forests indiscriminately without suffering greatly. I suspect that a huge amount of the anxiety and suffering that we see around can be closely traced to our wanton misuse of our resources. Just look at any garbage dump and see what is wasted. In a sense, we've wasted our souls.
Eco-friendly life would make people much happier because human is from nature.
8. Let go of negative things quickly. The Pope tells us not to complain about people who annoy or frustrate us, to let go of things as rapidly as we can. I have an old friend who used to say, "Put the bad things in your back pocket and leave them there." This may sound like escapism or putting your head in the sand, but it's more interesting than that. Life throws rotten things our way each day. People say nasty things to us, often about others. This stuff makes them miserable, of course. It makes us miserable, too. Flush it.
Keeping Negative things wouldn't help both my life nor my career.
9. Don't preach your religion too forcefully. Proselytism brings on paralysis, the Pope tells us. Wow. I'm a Christian myself, and I don't mind saying so. But each person sees the world before them in his or her own way. The Pope says this. As a teaching, it seems to run counter to the so-called Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20). Jesus said to get out there and spread the word. But the Pope takes a relaxed view of this activity, preferring that we should teach by example. Perhaps that really is what Jesus would do?
I imagined if this whole world has one religion, people would fight less than now. It is contradict that so many people have religion for better world, but there are too much war and conflict because of religions.
10. Work for peace. The Pope has preached this message from the beginning of his time as pontiff. He has gone to Jerusalem and worked to bring together Jews and Palestinians. He has prayed for peace and worked for peace. He has listened closely to Jesus, who said, "blessed are the peacemakers."
The Pope asks us to take in refugees, to think innovatively about how to create peace in the world. Jesus, of course, invites us to turn the other cheek when struck. This is a complex teaching. But it's essential to Christian faith. The Pope, once again, calls on us to take the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount seriously. This is very hard but crucial work.
I am pleased that I am already pay attention and doing something for peace :)

Man Hee Lee HWPL + Peace leader
Man Hee Lee HWPL + Peace leader
Pope Francis Korea visit is over and people are touched his speech and action toward sick and powerless people. According to articles, many tend to think about religious and peace which include myself. So I tried to find some other peace leaders who travel all over the world working for peace.
I found a leader named Man Hee Lee who actually solved religious conflict in Philippine last year. Man Hee Lee, the representative of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) has paid his third visit to Philippine and during his stay he has advised the Archbishop and three Bishops to sign a Peace Agreement at a Nunnery.
The purpose of Chairman Lee’s visit was to conclude the Peace Agreement which can lead to settle the conflict in the Mindanao region.
Archbishop Antonio J. Ledesma (the diocese of Cagaya de Oro) has met Mr. Lee for the first time on September 2013 and ever since their meeting, he has continually invited the Chairman many times to pay a visit in Philippine and to respond, the Peace advocate has decided to travel despite the region’s tight vigilance.
World peace activist Chairman Lee hosted the Peace Walk in the downtown area of General Santos on January 24 where approximately 1,000 participants including students of Mindanao State University, members of International Youth Group, and religious leaders joined the event, transcending the boundaries of religion and nationality for the first time in this region.
This movement created a great sensation and hopes among the Filipinos, who yearn for peace and it initiated a wave of peace within international societies, media, and people.
After the Peace Walk, students of Mindanao State University, Youth Groups, Mayors, University professors, Catholic leaders and Islamic leaders, who had participated in the Peace Walk gathered in the conference room of a hotel located in downtown General Santos.
Speeches about conflict and the solution to peace in Mindanao Island were delivered in the following order: the representative of Catholic (Fernando Capalla, former archbishop of Mindanao Davao), the representative of Islam (Esmael, governor of Maguindanao, and Islamic autonomous district in Mindanao) and Chairman Man hee Lee.
The representatives of Catholic and Islam united to sign the peace agreement for ending the war and achieving World Peace and pledged to work together with Chairman Man hee Lee of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light).
After signing the agreement, the representatives and Chairman Man Hee Lee held the Peace Agreement Ceremony announcing that Catholic and Islam will never have disputes again before God, people of the world, and approximately 150 participants.
Although there has been a Peace Agreement meeting hosted by Philippine government and Islam autonomous region on 2012, it could not bring the conclusion of peace. In fact, it was a very first time for a representative of peace organization from South Korea to host a Peace Agreement in Philippine and the world was astonished at the sight of the change of the nation, from death to life.
Philippine government did not hesitate to express the gratitude to the representative for his accomplishment and they opened a celebration to celebrate the memorable day.
After the Peace agreement between two religious leaders in Mindanao initiated
by Mr. Man Hee Lee, the government of the Philippines and Moro Islamic Liberation
Front (MILF) also signed a Peace Agreement.
According to local broadcasts, it has not only surprised people but has also
greatly inspired the citizens of the Philippine. Chairman Lee concluded a Peace
Agreement with Fidel Valdez Ramos, the former president of Philippine.

Pope Francis South Korea visit + anti catholic rally
A group of Protestants held a demonstration on Tuesday, slamming the Roman Catholic Church as heretical.
Organizers say about 10,000 people attended the event where a number of Protestant pastors stressed the difference between the Roman Catholic Church and Protestant churches, according to local Protestant media.
Rev. Song Chun-gil, the secretary general of the group, called Catholicism a perversion of faith, according to the reports. He has opposed recent moves among mainstream Protestant church leaders to form a relationship with the Roman Catholics, according to local media. (The Christian Daily has photos from the event.)
South Korea’s Protestant churches, divided into different alliances and denominations, haven’t issued a unified position on the Pope’s visit, which begins on Thursday.
While South Korea’s Protestant Evangelical churches continue to have political influence on the national level, they have seen their followers decline in recent years—in contrast to the rise in the number of Catholics.
Experts say many of the biggest Protestant churches have lost some public favor due to social conservatism and publicized internal struggles over power and money.
Protestants made up about 18.3% of South Koreans in 2005 and Catholics about 10.8%, according to the most recent census data.
Just over 46% said they didn’t have a religion and close to 23% identified themselves as Buddhists.

China earthquake, Yunnan province
Natural disaster, 6.1 manitude earthquake hit Yunnan province. More than 2,400 people were injured and the country's deadliest temblor in four years and its biggest test of emergency response.
Some 10,000 troops and hundreds of volunteers have rushed to Ludian to clear roads and dig out survivors from the debris, but landslides and bouts of heavy rains have complicated the efforts.
I pray for the Yunnan people as well as those who work for the area as rescue teams and volunteers.
