5. 'White Christmas' - Bing Crosby


White Christmas is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the version sung by Bing Crosby is the best-selling single of all time, with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide.



The original version was No. 1 on the US charts for 11 weeks on it's original release. However it was also released many times in the years afterwards including a 1947 version and did very well on the charts.

When Phil Spector's "A Christmas Gift For You" LP was released in November of 1963, the only original song it contained was "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home).

Written by the husband and wife duo of Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, along with Spector and recorded by Darlene Love, the song was ranked first by Rolling Stone Magazine on its list of The Greatest Rock and Roll Christmas Songs in December of 2010.
