[conflict news articles 2016]‘50 million poverty population’ caused by conflicts

[conflict news articles 2016]

‘50 million poverty population’ which is made by ‘conflicts on earth’

Did you know that October 17 is 'International Day for the Eradication of Poverty'

I happened to find out the day from the newspaper.

'International Day for the Eradication of Poverty' was established in order to urge the international attention about poverty in 1992 by the UN.

But Poverty population is more than 700 million in the world...

There were some opinions that all kinds of conflicts might cause those problems.

FAO and WFP submitted the reports points out that conflicts is the major cause of poverty to the UN security council.

56 million people... This number is a lot more than the whole population in of Korea.

14 million people is more than half of the population in Yemen. 8.7 million people is 27% of the population in Syria which has lasted conflicts over than 5 years. These two countries are under risk of starvation.

89% of Syria refugee who is residing in Lebanon needs support of food, nutrition and living urgently. 4.8 million people in Republic of South Sudan which is laid under high risk of civil war recently has the same problem.

Without solving hunger problem, the country which has insecure food security by experiencing conflicts has 40% higher chances on having recurrence of conflicts within 10 years compared to the country which solved problem.

Unfortunately, there is a bigger problem. The country in the poverty is difficult to solve these problem because it is caught in a vicious circle ; ‘conflicts-poverty-conflicts’

The correlation between conflicts and poverty which is mentioned by UN agencies strongly implies that 'resolution of conflicts ASAP' is the homework of international society in order to exterminate poverty.

On last 13th of Oct, António Guterres who is elected officially as Un Secretary General and the former Prime Minister of Portugal has emphasized on overcoming disunity spreading all over the world currently by mentioning Syria civil war.

We need to take action 'at this very moment' to solve two difficult and correlated problems which are poverty and conflicts.

What I want to share with many people is the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW). Drafted by renowned legal experts, the declaration's purpose is to cease all wars on earth.

DPCW is unique, as it aims for a cessation of all wars. By the means of prohibiting weapons and transforming them into daily tools, war and warlike activities cannot be initiated. Therefore, sustainable peace can be achieved by implementing this declaration.

If every country in the world adopts legislature inspired by the DPCW, I have faith that war will no longer break out.

I look forward to your support~~~
