HWPL and Aljazeera, the most popular news media, Sign an MOU for the cessation of wars and peace

The agreement was signed by HWPL(Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) Chairman Man Hee and Director of Aljazeera Center of Public Liberties and Human Rights (PL & HR) Sami Elhag, and Senior producer of Aljazeera Center of PL & HR Mohamed Eltayeb Elkhidir at Seoul, Korea, on September 18.

Aljazeera, one of the world's most respected and popular news and current affairs channels, began to cooperate with HWPL to further the cause for peace since March when Mr. Elkhidir participated in the Proclamation Ceremony of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), which provided 10 articles to establish a peaceful environment based on the foundation of international legal mechanism and cooperation among governments, IGOs and civil society.

Recognizing the imminent threats posed by conflicts and wars, prominent legal experts from various countries came together with a determination to produce a new legal document that could serve as a foundation for a safe and peaceful world. 

Through their collaborative efforts, the DPCW was drafted and officially proclaimed on 14 March 2016, at 3:14 PM.

Mr. Man Hee Lee’s dedication was so moving that Aljazeera has steadily interacted with HWPL, encouraging Mr. Elhag who helped formulate the Doha Declaration, to protect journalists worldwide.

Chairman Man Hee Lee, Mr. Elhag and Mr. Elkhidir discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the two organizations.

Mr. Elhag and Mr. Man Hee Lee emphasised the role of global networks in achieving world peace and cooperation with the help of Aljazeera.

One of HWPL’s peace initiatives highlights spreading a culture of peace and education to citizens and students, which calls for the role of media in news coverage on peace-related issues. 

In this regard, HWPL’s peace activities through Aljazeera’s global network will be introduced in various languages. In addition, the AJMN agreed to produce a special documentary of HWPL.
