On 25 May 2014, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted the 1-year Anniversary of the Declaration of World Peace.

A year following the launch of HWPL’s Walk for World Peace and Restoration and the first proclamation of the Declaration of World Peace, HWPL celebrated the 1-Year Commemoration of the Declaration of the World Peace at the UN Peace Park in Busan, South Korea.

Highlights of the commemoration event included a moving wreath-laying ceremony honoring the sacrifice of the soldiers who fought for peace as well as a multimedia presentation of HWPL’s current peace building projects and partnerships. Especially notable was the historic peace agreement between Catholic and Islam leaders in the Mindanao Island of the Philippines, which helped to mend the community’s long 40-year religious conflict that have resulted in more than 10,000 casualties.

The 1st Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace was a defining moment to reflect on the movement of peace since one year and a chance to envision future projects with strengthened determination. During the course of one year, the youth division of HWPL, International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) saw a tremendous leap in youth engagement.

From a network of 52 youth organizations from 31 countries to 235 organizations representing 69 countries! “I wish people of Iran are also here to participate this great event because nobody wants the conflicts” said Mohammad Iranpour of Iran. Through the Commemoration event, youth from across the globe expressed their continued commitment to fulfill their responsibility of peace.
