Peace documentary + Peace movie + Peace cinema

I was trying to find some peace movies to watch as follow :

Before introducing the lists of peace movies, I want to mention about an organization called "Cinema for Peace"(http://cinemaforpeace.com)

Cinema for Peace invites members of the international film community to attend the annual Cinema for Peace Award-Gala-Night during the Berlin International Film Festival since 2002. It brings international star guests and global personalities from the world of film, media, politics, business and society, while celebrating the power of the moving image and its ability to unite cultures. This event is a symbol of peace, freedom and tolerance, a symbol with a lasting effect on the world of film and media, initiating important projects and the free exchange of ideas. Cinema for Peace itself distributes, well as produces, valuable movies with inspiring messages.

The aim of Cinema for Peace is to promote peace and international understanding through the medium of film. War, terrorism and humanitarian catastrophes are sad realities in many parts of the world. However, artists can make a difference to the state of the world, and film and filmmakers should, perhaps more than any other art form, make a stand for peace and humanity.

* Peace movie 1) Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013)

A chronicle of Nelson Mandela's life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.

  • Nelson Mandela is a South African lawyer who joins the African National Congress in the 1940s when the law under the Apartheid system's brutal tyranny proves useless for his people. Forced to abandon peaceful protest for armed resistance after the Sharpeville Massacre, Mandela pays the price when he and his comrades are sentenced to life imprisonment for treason while his wife, Winnie, is abused by the authorities herself. Over the decades in chains, Mandela's spirit is unbowed as his struggle goes on in and beyond his captivity to become an international cause. However, as Winnie's determination hardens over the years into a violent ruthlessness, Nelson's own stature rises until he becomes the renowned leader of his movement. That status would be put to the test as his release nears and a way must be found to win a peaceful victory that will leave his country, and all its peoples, unstained.

* Peace movie 4) Children of War (2009)

A unique and incandescent documentary which follows a group of former child soldiers as they undergo a process of trauma therapy and emotional healing while in a rehabilitation center.

Filmed in the war-zone of northern Uganda over a period of three years by Director Bryan Single. 'Children of War' is a unique and incandescent documentary which follows a group of former child soldiers as they escape the battlefield, enter a rehabilitation center, and undergo a process of trauma therapy and emotional healing. Having been abducted from their homes and schools and forced to become fighters by the Lord's Resistance Army - a quasi-religious militia led by self-proclaimed prophet and war criminal Joseph Kony - the children struggle to confront and break through years of captivity, extreme religious indoctrination, and participation in war crimes with the help of a team of trauma counselors. As these fearless allies guide the children forward into new lives, Children of War illuminates a powerful and cathartic story of forgiveness and hope in the aftermath of war.
